1. What makes Safety in the Dark different from other lighting and reflective gear brands?

At Safety in the Dark, our focus is on you! Our mission is to enhance your visibility, safety and confidence. We specialize, and stand behind, our selection of affordable lighting & reflective wear solutions that are designed to keep you safe during outdoor activities like running, walking, and cycling. Our offerings are made with durability, ease-of-use, and high-performance to help you stay visible, safe and confident in low-light environments.

2. Do your lights work for both day and night?

Yes! While our lights are designed with night-time visibility in mind, like a car’s running lights, many of our products are bright enough to be seen during the day…and of course, when you're in low ambient light environments. So, whether you're running at dawn or cycling at dusk, you can count on our lights to help you stay safe.

3. How do I know what’s right for me?

We offer a wide range of products designed for a wide range of activities. To help you choose the right one, look at the product descriptions and features, which detail the type of use (running, walking, cycling, or home use) as well as specifications like brightness, battery life, and water resistance. If you’re still unsure, our customer service team is happy to offer personalized recommendations based on your needs.

4. Are your safety lights and reflective gear easy to attach and use?

Absolutely! Our running lights, cycling lights and reflective gear are designed to be lightweight, easy-to-wear, and simple-to-attach. Most all our lights and reflective wear feature adjustable straps, clips, or mounts to ensure a secure fit while you’re on the move. Whether you’re wearing a safety vest, headlamp, armband, footlight or helmet light, our products are designed for convenience, stability and comfort.

5. You focus on outdoor activities, why do you also offer “home-use” lights?

Safety in the Dark is focused on safety and visibility. This also applies to your home. Our home-use lights can be used in various settings around your home for security, ambiance, and/or lighting up dark spaces. Put your home in a good light. Driveways, pathways, fences, stairs, gardens, recreation areas… our selection of home-use lights can be used all around the house.

6. How long do your lights last on a single charge?

Battery life varies depending on the light’s brightness setting and type. Generally, our rechargeable lights last from several hours to over 10 hours on a single charge, depending on the model and usage. Always check the product description for more specific details on battery life and runtime.

7. Do your lights have adjustable brightness settings?

Yes, many of our lights come with adjustable brightness settings, allowing you to choose the right level of light for your activity. Whether you need a high beam for visibility while cycling or a low beam for an evening walk, our lights offer flexibility to suit your needs.

8. Are your lights suitable for all weather conditions?
